Straight answers.
Is this a medical device?+
GutSense is a wellness device. It's not currently cleared to diagnose or treat disease. The acoustic sensing science it's built on has FDA-cleared precedent (UCLA AbStats), and we're pursuing our own clinical validation pathway.
Does it record audio of me or my surroundings?+
No. Raw sound is processed on the chip and discarded. Only classified gut-state labels ever leave the patch. That's privacy by hardware design, not just policy.
How is it different from Oura or Whoop?+
Oura and Whoop measure your wrist or finger. Neither can see your gut. GutSense adds the digestive layer — the organ that makes 90% of your serotonin.
How long does one patch last?+
Seven days of continuous wear. Then you replace it. The battery, sensor, and adhesive are all engineered for a full week.
Can I shower or exercise with it?+
Yes. It's sweat- and shower-proof. The Bosch bone-conduction wake trigger filters motion so exercise doesn't confuse the signal.
Where does it go on my body?+
Just below the ribcage on the abdomen. It's soft, thin, and hidden under clothes.
What will it cost?+
We're targeting €149 for the starter kit plus €9.99/month for the app and insight subscription. The waitlist form asks you about this so we can pressure-test the price with real people.
When will I get one?+
Private beta ships in Germany in Winter 2026. Wider EU rollout follows in 2027. Waitlist members are invited first.
What data do you collect on the waitlist?+
Just your email and (optionally) why you're interested, whether the price sounds fair, and your country. We use it to shape the beta cohort and communicate with you. See the privacy page.
